Britney Spears wants the world to know she's okay following her DUI arrest.
Sean Phillip, the singer's longtime friend and former personal assistant, appeared on Friday's *Good Morning Britain** *to give update an from the "Toxic" singer, two days after she was arrested by the California Highway Patrol.
Phillip said Spears, 44, allowed him to discuss her situation and shared that he texted her "Are you okay?" The "Baby One More Time" singer responded with "I'm okay" after being released from custody, he said.
"You have to imagine what she's going through all these times," Phillip added. "And it makes me feel bad when she has to endure public mistakes."

When asked by the *GMB* anchors if Spears should be put in another conservatorship, Phillip rejected the idea. He explained that her previous conservatorship, which was terminated in 2021, was enough to "break you down." Spears had testified that she had been abused, controlled, and forcefully medicated for 13 years under the legal agreement.
Phillip said that she is "same Britney I knew from 2003" and has the strength to get through this latest bout of legal trouble.
"I think she's going to be okay," he said. "She's one of the strongest people that I've ever met. She gives me inspiration to go forward sometimes."
At the time of her arrest, law enforcement suspected Spears was under the influence of a "combination of alcohol and drugs." After a night in the Ventura County Jail, she was released on Thursday morning. Her next court date is set for May 4.
A representative for Spears previously told PEOPLE that "this was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable."

"Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life," the rep continued.
The rep was hopeful that the Grammy winner will "get the help and support she needs during this difficult time." Spears will be spending time with her sons as the rest of her loved ones "come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being."
