Candace Cameron Bure isn't shy when it comes to talking about sex, but there's still one aspect of intimacy that never fails to "weird" her out.
"A visual of God watching me having sex weirds me out," Bure told Bachelor Nation's Madi Prewett during the Tuesday episode of her eponymous podcast. "It totally just depends on your upbringing and what your past experiences have been or the things that you were taught as a kid. I'm almost 50 and some of those adolescent thoughts never quite leave your mind or those high school teenage thoughts never quite leave your mind."
Prewett agreed with the sentiment, replying that the feeling was "so real."
"I think what I felt, I'm like, 'Lord, help me to invite you into this and not feel like this is a weird or shameful thing for you because you created it,'" the *Bachelor* runner-up added. "You created it to feel good, you know, you put the nerve endings where they are, the feelings where [they are] like, you, you did that. And so I'm just going to invite you into this and pray that you bless it. Pray that it honors you, pray that it serves and respects my husband. It's an interesting thing."

Bure's revelation came during a conversation about breaking down the concept of purity, both while under the glare of the spotlight and from the perspective of religious figures in Hollywood. The actress, who is best known for her iconic role as D.J. Tanner on *Full House* and its sequel series, *Fuller House**, *shared earlier in the podcast that she had "very kind of weird, confused feelings" about sex after she married former hockey player Valeri Bure.
She noted that "purity culture" expected her to be a virgin until she tied the knot, "then it's like, 'Okay, now you're married, go for it.'"
"And it was a little... I don't want to quite use the word shameful, but there were parts of it that felt shameful because I went from not being a sexual person to [people] saying, like, now you can do whatever you want. And so it felt weird. There wasn't a good bridge there," she added.

But Bure emphasized that as a mom of three — to Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 24, with Valeri — she's become very comfortable having the conversation about sex. "I have three kids that are in their 20s. So I've done a lot of parenting and had a lot of conversations in this area over the years," she quipped.

In July, the podcast host revealed that she and her husband went through a "really rough season in our marriage" in 2020, during which their eldest son gave them a much-needed boost. "It was going south quickly, and we were like, 'I don't know, don't think...we're gonna make it through.' But at one point, [our son] Lev preached, like, a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. Just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it," she shared at the time.
She continued, "And I'll never forget, because he said, 'You know, I know I haven't been married. and I'm just a young kid. And so it's probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young who never experienced it before. But I don't need to be married to know what the word of God says.'"
The star said her son "was such a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it" that she and Valeri "walked away" from the experience saying, "We raised some pretty good kids."
"It was so in our face, but that was like the pivotal moment — it really changed for us after that talk. There was a lot more to it, but it's a whole different scenario when your kids sit you down to have a talk and go, 'Are you being as mature as you can be?' I'm so grateful to Lev and Maks and Natasha," she concluded. "They were so supportive of everything."
