Andrew's ties to Jeffrey Epstein and an ongoing investigation into alleged misconduct have kept him out of the public eye
The former Prince Andrew quietly attended his first public event since his February arrest and relocation to Sandringham, joining Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh at an equestrian competition.
On June 28, the former Duke of York, 66, was photographed in a car at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials on King Charles' Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where he was exiled to after losing his princely title and Royal Lodge home in late 2025.
According to The Sun, Andrew stayed away from the main area as he watched his sister-in-law Sophie, 61, compete and is thought to have attended for moral support.
"Andrew sneaked in and sneaked out and definitely didn’t want to be seen," an onlooker told the outlet.

"But I saw Andrew leave the field at 10:30am, just after Sophie had ridden her round, then I saw Edward walking towards his car smiling shortly afterwards," they said.
A photo showed that Andrew appeared to have a trace left of the mysterious bruise on his right cheek. The King's brother debuted the bruise earlier this month and a source told the Daily Mail the mystery mark was no "cause for concern." The Sun added that it's understood to have been caused by medication, such as blood thinners.
Andrew and Edward's father, the late Prince Philip, founded the equestrian event technically called the Sandringham Festival of Carriage Driving in 1982 and today, his daughter-in-law Sophie is its President.
The weekend event marked a rare outing with royal family members for Andrew, who has kept a low profile in recent months.

King Charles, 77, stripped his middle brother's royal titles and evicted him from his Royal Lodge home in October 2025 as Andrew's ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein came under renewed scrutiny.
The former Duke's links to late financier and convicted sex offender Epstein set his step back from royal life in motion in 2019, though he has continuously denied any wrongdoing regarding their relationship.
On his 66th birthday in February, Andrew was arrested in Sandringham on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Andrew Moutnbatten-Windsor, as he's now known, was detained as police investigate a claim that he shared confidential information with Epstein in his previous post as a U.K. trade envoy, in a probe that remains ongoing.
Andrew is the third of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's four children, and Hello! reported that his relationships with his siblings have been mixed amid the latest scandals.
The outlet said that Prince Edward, 62, was the first to visit Andrew over the Easter weekend, which was right around when he moved to his current Marsh Farm home on the estate after initially staying at another Sandringham property amid renovations.
Hello! alleged that Princess Anne made a "secret phone call" to Andrew then as well and claimed that King Charles has not reached out or visited him.
