At a new gourmet hot dog restaurant in northern York County, customers can order frankfurters dressed with not-so-typical toppings, including crumbled crab cake, deviled egg salad, and cheesesteak, to name a few.
One of the most popular is the Memphis Outlaw, a hot dog topped with pulled pork, crunchy coleslaw, chopped bacon and a chipotle‑pineapple barbecue sauce — a tasty mash‑up of barbecue favorites in one handheld meal.
Melissa and Wayne Foxwell recently opened Stylish Dogs in a small shopping center in East Manchester Township. The couple had talked about the idea of opening a hot dog eatery for some time and taste-tested their creations at home with their large family. When the retail space became available, they decided to open the business.
Word spread through Facebook and the community when the restaurant opened its doors.
"We didn't even do a grand opening or anything because we didn't want to be bombarded, but we ended up getting that anyway," Wayne Foxwell said.

The Foxwells use Dallastown-based Sechrist Bros. hot dogs. They also offer a bison dog that comes from a Mount Wolf-area farm. The meat is boiled and finished on the grill. The toppings are made fresh in the morning.
The menu offers a variety of gourmet hot dogs. The Aloha is topped with macaroni and cheese, chili, diced ham and pineapple. The Crabby Dog is garnished with crumbled crab cake, diced tomato, lettuce and a brown mustard drizzle. The Stylish Dog is dressed with French fries, chili, cheese and diced onion.

The eatery also sells a Wake Up Special, which is an apple‑maple griller topped with shredded hashbrowns, fried egg and shredded Colby Jack cheese. The grillers come from Stoltzfus Meats in Lancaster County.
Each week, the restaurant sells a special hot dog. It recently offered a BLT one, which sold well.

Customers have been weighing in, too, with suggestions for hot dogs they’d like to order. One is a Chicago dog, which features neon green sweet pickle relish. The Foxwells said they are working to add it to the menu.
"You won't leave here hungry," Melissa Foxwell said of the food.

The business is a family affair for the Foxwells.
Their daughter, Skyla Foxwell, an art student at Millersville University, designed the hot dogs that are used on the restaurant's logo, which was created by a friend.

Daughter Miranda Cook and her fiancé, Anthony Smith, were helping serve customers at the restaurant on a recent evening. Another daughter, Lily Cook, a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, can’t wait to see the business when she returns home. Their son, Kaden, is a freshman at Northeastern High School.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day except for Sunday and Thursday.
Customers stopped by on a recent evening to pick up dinner. One ordered a hot dog with chili and mustard. Melissa Foxwell told the woman she could have the frankfurter however she wanted it.
"It's your style," Wayne Foxwell said from the kitchen.
