Nikki Glaser is calling out CBS – while on CBS – at the Golden Globes.

During her opening monologue at Sunday's Golden Globes Awards ceremony, the comedian took a jab at the news department of the same network, CBS, where she was hosting the show.

"And the award for most editing goes to CBS News," Glaser quipped. "Yes, CBS News: America's newest place to see BS news."

The comment comes as CBS News has faced criticism over the past few months for some of its coverage decisions under its new editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss.

Nikki Glaser speaks onstage during the 83rd Annual Golden Globes in Beverly Hills, Jan. 11, 2026.

In particular, Weiss stirred controversy in December after CBS pulled a "60 Minutes" segment about the notorious El Salvador prison CECOT at the last minute. At the time, CBS News said it pulled the segment because "we determined it needed additional reporting" and that it "will air in a future broadcast." The segment has not yet aired.

Correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi, who reported the "60 Minutes" piece, reportedly wrote in an email to colleagues that the decision to pull the segment "is not an editorial decision, it is a political one," according to The New York Times.

Tony Dokoupil has also received some backlash after recently taking over as anchor of "CBS Evening News," including for a segment saluting Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his "impressive resume."

Nikki Glaser roasts Leonardo DiCaprio at Golden Globes

This wasn't the only brutal barb in Glaser's opening Golden Globes monologue. The comedian also roasted Leonardo DiCaprio and his tendency to date younger women.

"The most impressive thing [about your career] is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30," she said. "I mean, it's just insane."

Glaser added, "Leo, I'm sorry I made that joke. It's cheap. You know what? I tried not to, but like, we don't know anything else about you, man."
