Jalen Hurts is said to have been struggling once again this training camp this off-season, with the team in an intriguing position and the quarterback's position not quite untouchable.

The Eagles signed Hurts to a huge extension in 2023, agreeing a five-year, $255 million contract that runs through the 2028 season. However, his deal becomes very tradeable this year - with some believing the front office may begin to consider this should the quarterback continue to struggle.

Reports have not been kind on Hurts throughout training camp, and he's said to have struggled greatly as a pocket passer. The Eagles have lost their outside threat in AJ Brown after the wide receiver was traded to the New England Patriots. This, meaning Hurts will now have to be more methodical in their drives - with starting receivers DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon's style of play needing him to be much more accurate.

After winning the Super Bowl in 2024, the Eagles appear to have been on a downward spiral. They lost their offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, to the New Orleans Saints. They replaced him with Kevin Patullo, who was fired after their performances last year.

This led to the Brown trade, who did not hide his frustrations with Hurts.

Hurts has never been known for his accuracy, instead being a dynamic athlete with the capabilities of launching the ball down the field. But his passing took a noticeable dive last season, missing on a number of throws he should be making.

This appears to have continued in training camp, with multiple reports suggesting he has piled up the interceptions.

And ESPN's Dan Graziano believes the Eagles may have to consider a trade should his current path continue, while eating salary cap to do so.

If any team is even considering making a move for a new quarterback, the 2027 NFL Draft is the time to do so.

The class could see as many as 12 quarterbacks be taken in the first-round, with the Eagles getting great value for a player at the most key position.

The Eagles have two first-rounders in the 2028 draft class, and could move one of them to move up - as well as receiving draft capital in a potential trade for Hurts.

A number of team are likely to hold interest in Hurts, who still has boasted impressive numbers in recent years despite the offense struggling as a whole.

Whatever the case, the Eagles will hope for another big year from Saquon Barkley, who enters his third season with the team in 2026.
