Jelly Roll took a swipe at President Donald Trump while guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The 41-year-old country music star (born Jason DeFord) began his guest-hosting stint for Jimmy Kimmel's ABC late-night show on Monday, August 24. During Jelly Roll's opening monologue, he took aim at the 80-year-old POTUS. The jab at Trump seemed unexpected to many, given the widespread speculation that Jelly was a MAGA supporter.

Those suspicions gained traction after photos emerged of him grinning alongside Trump at a 2024 UFC event, and continued when he was a headliner at Kid Rock's Rock the Country festival that has been dubbed the "MAGA festival" — a move that sparked considerable backlash. This comes as Jelly Roll was criticized for a ' very MAGA' speech at the 2026. Grammy Awards.

Launching into his sharp monologue, Jelly Roll opened with, "The president seemed to enjoy the IndyCar race which was a real switch up for him because normally he only likes his own race.

"Trump also drove around the track in his motorcade, doing what they call 'the lap of honor,' which sounds like a loyalty program at a strip club," he continued.

Pulling no punches, the 41 year old country star pressed on, "Sadly, those are the only laps that Trump has been doing lately. According to The Washington Post, a lot of doctors are worried about the president's weight.

"After his last physical, we found out Trump gained 14lbs, which means he is now tipping the scales at almost 240. It's crazy. Think about this y'all, in the last two years, I've lost 300lbs. That means I've lost an entire Donald Trump. And let's be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing."

The Save Me artist then jokingly remarked that individuals shouldn't mock the president's weight, given that Trump doesn't do that to others. The show then highlighted the deliberate irony of the comment, displaying a compilation featuring numerous occasions where Trump criticized people for their weight, reports the Express US.

"Well, if that ain't the pot calling the kettle fat. Well Mr President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important and trust me, you'll be happy to see your penis again," Jelly Roll declared.

Currently, Jelly Roll's political stance remains somewhat unclear, as he appeared to avoid the topic following his victory at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

"People shouldn't care to hear my opinion. I'm a dumb redneck," Jelly Roll said when asked about the current political landscape. "I hate to be the artist that sounds aloof, but I just feel so disconnected from what's happening. I didn't know politics were real until I was in my mid-20s in jail. That's how disconnected you are when you grow up in a drug-addicted household."
