During a recent episode of *Jeopardy*, a category featuring ballet and opera, seemingly referring to comments the Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet made about the art forms during a town hall in February at the University of Texas at Austin. "NOBODY @ HIM 👀#Jeopardy! #timotheechalamet," the Instagram Reel of the clues caption read.

Fans were quick to notice the allusion in the March 9 post. "Jeopardy to the arts: I got your back," one user wrote. "Well played! 👏👏👏," another said. "Dying art ehh???? They flew through those answers!!!!!!!," a third chimed in, referring to the contestants' quick responses on the game show.**

During the Variety & CNN Town Hall on Feb. 24 with Matthew McConaughey, Chalamet spoke about movie theaters and the challenges they face.

"I admire people, and I've done it myself, who go on a talk show and go, 'Hey, we gotta keep movie theaters alive. You know, we gotta keep this genre alive,'" he said. "And another part of me feels like, if people want to see it, like *Barbie*, like *Oppenheimer*, they're going to go see it and go out of their way to be loud and proud about it."**

"And I don't want to be working in ballet or opera, or you know, things where it's like, 'Hey, keep this thing alive,' even though it's like, no one cares about this anymore," Chalamet continued before adding, "All respect to the ballet and opera people out there. I just lost 14 cents in viewership.”

Timothée Chalamet calls opera and ballet 'dying' art forms in resurfaced video amid scandal

After his comments went viral in early March, many in the opera and ballet communities spoke out. The Metropolitan Opera shared a video on Instagram, calling out Chalamet in its caption while celebrating the cultural institution.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Opera offered attendees purchasing tickets to see *Carmen *14% off certain tickets by using the code TIMOTHEE, which the *Call Me By Your Name *actor was more than welcome to use as well.

The London Ballet also shared a video on Instagram, emphasizing the venue's impactful offerings. "Every night at the Royal Opera House, thousands of people gather for ballet and opera. … If you’d like to reconsider, @tchalamet, our doors are open," it captioned the clip.

*The View *hosts and Doja Cat also called out Chalamet for his comments.
