John Stamos is picking up the good vibrations from his new ink.

The *Full House* alum and musician just got his very first tattoo — at the age of 62, no less — and it holds special meaning for several reasons.

Stamos chose to permanently adorn his upper right arm with an ink replica of *Appeal to the Great Spirit*, a 1908 bronze statue by artist Cyrus Edwin Dallin that depicts a Native American man on horseback with his arms outstretched.

Six decades after its creation, the Beach Boys adopted the powerful image as the logo of their record label, Brother Records.

To the band, it’s been "a symbol of artistic freedom and trust in a higher creative path," Stamos captioned an Instagram video of his tattoo session with artist Oscar Jordan Urbina.

"Lately I've felt that same pull in my own life," he explained. "Stepping into this new chapter of my career, taking bigger swings, following the work wherever it leads. The timing felt right, so I put that Great Spirit on my arm as a reminder to stay brave, stay open, and trust the direction the art is taking me."

Stamos' connection to the Beach Boys is legendary. He first performed live with the band, on percussion, in 1985.

Three years later, the Beach Boys guest-starred on a Season 2 episode of *Full House *in which D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) wins concert tickets and must decide who to take as her plus-one: her father Danny (Bob Saget), Joey (Dave Coulier), or Uncle Jesse (Stamos), a huge Beach Boys fan.

It would be the first of three *Full House *appearances by the iconic band. Mike Love, singer and lyricist, made a solo cameo in Season 3 and the following year, all of the Beach Boys returned to record their song "Forever" with Jesse's band, The Rippers.

Four decades later, Stamos is still rocking with the band. In 2025, he joined their *Sounds of Summer Tour*.

"We are excited to celebrate 40 years of John Stamos performing with The Beach Boys and ending the summer on such a high note together," Love wrote on Facebook.

The tour came just two months after the death of Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson in June 2025. Stamos led the tributes to the late great songwriter "whose music made me feel things I didn't know how to say," he wrote on Instagram.

"I grew up worshipping the Beach Boys, never imagining one day I'd get to play with them, let alone call Brian a friend."
