Lindsay Lohan has had an incredible decade, from getting married to welcoming her son. Now, she's passing on some of her advice to the youngest members of her generation as they turn 30.
The actress, who turns 40 on July 2, partnered with Chime to celebrate the youngest millennials, born in 1996, and promote financial well-being. As the Freakier Friday star approaches her 40s, she opens up to PEOPLE about her advice for those just entering their 30s.
"I'd say that this decade is yours," she says. "I think there's so much pressure around what you're supposed to have to figure out by a certain age, but I don't think that's necessarily the right way to look at it. Your 30s are [when] things start clicking, and you should also take seriously how you want to set yourself up for your future."
She adds that when she was turning 30, she remembers feeling like, "I don't want to be 30 yet," because it "doesn't feel like 21 or something." "It feels like, 'Uh-oh,' " she jokes.

Despite being wary of approaching the seemingly daunting age, Lohan made the decade arguably her best yet.
In 2022, she married her husband, financier Bader Shammas. The following year, the two welcomed their son, Luai, together.
Professionally, Lohan also had a career resurgence, starring in Netflix rom-coms like 2022's Falling for Christmas and 2024's Our Little Secret as well as 2025's Freakier Friday, the sequel to her beloved 2003 hit Freaky Friday.

Now that she's approaching 40, Lohan reflects that the difference between 30 and 40 doesn't have to be more dramatic than the one between 35 and 40.
"I don't know that I'd say it's between 30 and 40. For me, it can also be 35 and 40," she says. "I think 35 is another milestone in a way because then you're almost 40. You're closer. So it's like another wake-up call moment."
As for what she's learned in the past decade? "The value of time."
"That time is precious, and sometimes we forget time goes by so quickly that we should really enjoy every moment to its fullest," Lohan says.

To that end, Lohan's partnership with Chime encourages the youngest millennials to invest in their financial future and prioritize their monetary goals in a few fun spots featuring the star poking fun at Gen Z lingo, dropping references to her iconic films and telling millennials to "glow up — financially."
"I feel it's a real generational movement and that's why it felt worth celebrating in a way that's fun, which is what we tried to do here with Chime," she says. "I mean, 30s are [when] a lot of people want to get real about their finances, so you have to actually take it seriously now and stop putting it off. And this campaign's really about that shift."
