A London Tube station has been evacuated after several people reported feeling unwell amid a suspected gas leak.
A British Transport Police spokesperson told The Independent: “Officers were called to Farringdon station at 9.42am on Thursday following reports of a suspected gas leak in the station, with a small number of passengers reporting feeling unwell.
“Officers are in attendance, alongside the ambulance service and the fire brigade, and the station has been evacuated while enquiries are conducted.”

Due to the incident, Thameslink, which operates rail services through the station, said no trains will run between London Blackfriars and London St Pancras “until further notice”.
That means Farringdon and City Thameslink stations have no services.
Meanwhile, the entire central London section of the Elizabeth line – which runs through Farringdon – is suspended while investigations are underway.
