Netflix has pushed back against recent speculation about its relationship with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The streaming giant addressed reports suggesting that the company had been distancing itself from the Montecito-based couple and their production company, Archewell Productions.

According to a top Netflix executive, the partnership between the platform and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remains intact despite the recent headlines.

Netflix exec Bela Bajaria confirms future projects with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria dismissed the reports during the “Next on Netflix” presentation on Wednesday. There, the streaming giant unveiled parts of their upcoming slate.

“I would say don’t believe whatever you read,” Bajaria said while responding to a recent Variety report that suggested Netflix had experienced a “falling out” with the couple. She added, “Maybe we should all do a little fact-checking.”

Bajaria emphasized that the company still maintains an active working relationship with Markle and Prince Harry. “We still have a relationship with them, we have movies in development with them, we have an amazing doc with them, they have things in development on the TV and film side,” she said.

She also noted that deals across the entertainment industry often change. “Deals come and go all the time and… we don’t renew so many deals and those don’t get as much press for obvious reasons, I guess. So there’s no juicy story there.”

Her comments came during the presentation highlighting Netflix’s upcoming projects, including Ben Affleck’s film “Animals” and the second season of “Beef”. None of the couple’s projects were featured during the event.

Netflix had previously responded strongly to a Variety article as well. A spokesperson told the publication that claims the company had lost enthusiasm for Markle and Prince Harry were “absolutely inaccurate.”

However, some changes have taken place in the business relationship. On March 6, Netflix confirmed that it was exiting Markle’s lifestyle brand “As Ever” as a business partner. Earlier, in August 2025, the streamer also adjusted the couple’s overall deal, shifting it to a first-look arrangement.

Despite those changes, Bajaria’s remarks suggest Netflix continues to develop projects with the couple.
