A new post on the White House’s official X page crops President Trump’s devout aide Natalie Harp out of the video.
The GIF, captioned “When someone says Trust in Trump,” features the president standing in the crowd at the inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington, D.C. He is standing with First Lady Melania Trump as she returns to the public eye this week after a full month without being seen.
Earlier in the day, a short video from the Grand Prix circulated showing the president side-by-side with Melania while watching the event. When the first lady gets up, Harp quickly steps over to briefly speak with the president before returning to her previous location.

Private letters written from Harp to the president, which were acquired by the Daily Beast, have recently gained widespread attention online. These letters highlight her strong emotional attachment to him, most notably in a note where she describes him as her "guardian and protector."

In that same 2023 letter, she expressed, "I never want to bring you anything but joy. I'm sorry I lost my focus. You are all that matters to me. I don't want to ever let you down. Thank you for being my Guardian and Protector in this Life.”
According to the Daily Beast, Melania is reportedly not pleased with Harp’s constant presence around Trump. According to Trump biographer Michael Wolff, Melania rarely joined her 80-year-old husband on the 2024 campaign trail due to the prominent role Natalie Harp plays in his life.
Writing in his Substack newsletter Howl, Wolff explained that Melania was unwilling to share the spotlight alongside Harp and avoided public appearances whenever Harp was present. Because Harp remained a constant figure at Trump's side, Melania kept her distance for most of the race, making an appearance only during the final week of the campaign.
“Melania, whose appearances with her husband were carefully negotiated and choreographed, would not show up if Harp was around,” Wolff wrote. “Since Harp was always around, Melania never was—appearing with her husband only in the last week of the campaign.”

Their relationship has become more talked about since Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff stated that Trump "doesn't want to do the job, he wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie."
At the Grand Prix, Harp was also spotted chatting with Trump’s son, Eric.
