Nina Dobrev revealed that kissing longtime friend Aaron Paul for The Get Out felt awkward due to their close friendship
She joked the experience was like "making out with my brother"

Nina Dobrev is opening up about the less glamorous side of on-screen romance.
While appearing on a June 30 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the actress, 37, admitted that locking lips with her longtime friend and The Get Out costar, Aaron Paul, was anything but romantic thanks to her 15-year-long friendship with Paul, 46.
“Aaron and I have known each other — him and his wife and I met, I think in 2011?” Dobrev said. “So we’ve been friends for a while.”
That history made filming their kissing scene especially uncomfortable.
After co-host Mark Consuelos asked whether it was ”weird” or “awkward” to kiss a friend, Dobrev joked, “Very."

Kelly Ripa compared it to kissing a relative, prompting Dobrev to take the analogy one step further.

“My brother. Yeah,” she said. “It was like making out with my brother. Don’t recommend it.”
Even if their on-screen chemistry required some getting used to, Dobrev clarified it had nothing to do with Paul's performance. “Although Aaron… not to… he was great… that’s not… you get it!” she said.

Before sharing the funny behind-the-scenes confession, Dobrev also teased The Get Out, describing it as “an action thriller comedy” that’s “super fun.”
The upcoming film follows Russell Crowe's Manco Kapak, a nightclub owner who is looking to retire and live a quiet life when he's squeezed by masked gunmen (Dobrev and Paul), the cartel and a mysterious buyer.
Along with Dobrev and Paul, The Get Out boasts an ensemble cast that includes Teresa Palmer, Luke Evans and Danny Zovatto.
The Get Out was released in select theaters on June 26.
