Noel Gallagher was so impressed after meeting Matthew McConaughey that he decided to give the actor a place of honor in his front window.
The Oasis musician, 59, recalled having a life-size cardboard cutout of McConaughey displayed in his window for a month after meeting the actor at a friend’s wedding during a Friday, Oct. 23 appearance on Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date.
“I had [a cardboard cutout] of Matthew McConaughey in my front window for a while,” Gallagher said. “I met him at a friend’s wedding. I’ve never met anyone like him. I bought a life-size cardboard cutout and put it in the front window for a month.”

McConaughey wasn’t the only topic to come up during the conversation. Gallagher also shared his blunt opinions on vegetarianism and veganism after Dimoldenberg asked whether he liked chicken nuggets.
“Who doesn’t?” Gallagher replied.
When Dimoldenberg pointed out that vegetarians don’t eat chicken nuggets, the musician responded, “F--k those guys.” He was even less enthusiastic about vegans, whom he described as “Worse” and said had “No stamina.”

The musician also spoke about Paul McCartney, offering praise for the former Beatles member when Dimoldenberg brought him up.
“He’s one of those rare people that when you meet him, you walk away from it feeling good about yourself,” Gallagher said.
Dimoldenberg, meanwhile, remarked that McCartney’s age would be difficult to guess, noting that he is in his 80s. Gallagher attributed at least part of that to the musician’s diet, noting, “Well, he’s vegetarian, isn’t he?”
“Must be something in it,” Dimoldenberg replied.

Gallagher also addressed a rumor about his own rock-star habits during the interview. When Dimoldenberg asked whether he goes onstage without underwear, he dismissed the claim as “nonsense” before revealing that he sometimes wears two pairs.
“I wear two pairs of underpants,” Gallagher said, explaining that the extra layer helps “stop leaks.”
Dimoldenberg joked that she had thought he was “living on the edge, rockstar,” but Gallagher insisted he wasn’t, adding that Bono was the one who did that.

When asked to name the most rock-star thing about himself, Gallagher had a straightforward answer: “The fact that I am one.”
The interview comes after Oasis completed its Live ‘25 tour, which marked the first time Gallagher and his brother Liam, 54, performed together onstage since the band split in 2009.
The group recently announced 38 additional shows across the U.K., Europe and the U.S. for 2027, following the reunion tour.
