- Olivia Rodrigo joked about her *Bizaardvark* costar Jake Paul on *SNL*.

- "He'd say, 'Well, one day, I really want to beat up old guys on Netflix,'" Rodrigo said in her monologue.

- Paul responded on X, reacting to the singer-songwriter's jab in a post of his own.

Olivia Rodrigo has drawn YouTuber-turned-actor-turned-boxer Jake Paul into the ring for a response to her joke about him during her recent *Saturday Night Live* monologue.

The singer-songwriter hosted (and served as the musical guest on) the most recent episode of the sketch comedy series, where she joked about her former costar's ambitions back when they appeared together on the Disney Channel sitcom *Bizaardvark *from 2016-2019.

"We had an incredible cast, which included acting legend Jake Paul," Rodrigo said of the show, which she joined when she was 13.

"We'd always talk about our futures, me and Jake," Rodrigo continued. "I'd say, 'I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age.' He'd say, 'Well, one day, I really want to beat up old guys on Netflix.' We both did it! Hooray!"

The audience laughed at the joke, which referenced Paul's highly publicized, Netflix-hosted 2024 boxing match against Mike Tyson.

In a subsequent social media post on X, Paul reacted to the jab as he wrote, "We had the vision I told you that you would sell stadiums out and then we both did proud of you fr."

Rodrigo appeared on the most recent episode of *Saturday Night Live* to promote her upcoming album, *You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love*, due out June 12. The album's lead single, "Drop Dead," debuted at No. 1 on the *Billboard* Hot 100 upon its release earlier this year.

Prior to the star's rise to pop music fame,* Bizaardvark* followed Rodrigo as Paige Olvera, a teen singer who, alongside her friend Frankie Wong (Madison Hu), rose to digital stardom through their unique musical creations.

Though Rodrigo and Hu appeared on all three seasons of the children's show, Paul only appeared among the main cast for seasons 1 and 2, with the actor leaving both the series and the network in 2017.**

Since his time on the show, Paul's work as an internet personality has courted controversy, with multiple criticisms ranging from the explicit nature of his content to alleged sexual misconduct.

“Sexual assault accusations aren’t something that I, or anyone should ever take lightly, but to be crystal clear, this claim made against me is 100% false," Paul said in response to the allegation. "Not only have I never had any sexual relationship with this individual, but this claim is solely a manufactured accusation and a blatant attempt for attention during a highly visible fight week.”
