Late Hollywood icon Ryan O’Neal’s actress daughter Tatum O’Neal is reacting to Mark Ruffalo’s latest social media post about the Israel-Palestine conflict. She took to Threads four hours ago and wrote:

“This man is a great actor. He’s being so honest about what’s happening because it’s wrong on so many levels in Gaza and the Heritage Foundation Project 2025. We’re in a fascist regime, horrifying.”

Below Tatum’s post is a video of Mark Ruffalo where he is seen pining for children in Gaza and mentioning how “80 percent” of people who’ve died in the region are “civilians.”

The Avengers star was seen getting angry and yelling:

“It’s insane. Do something, President Trump, do something. You say you care about starving people, you say you want to stop war, do something. Germany, do something, Europe, do something, you can, do something. We’re gonna sit here and watch this happen? It’s insane, it’s heartbreaking…”

Mark Ruffalo also spoke about the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) that has recently declared that Gaza is in a “state of famine.” He claimed this was not a natural disaster like a drought, but rather a “man-made disaster, a man-made criminal act.” The veteran actor blamed Israel and the IDF before adding:

“They have all the food in the world on one side of the border and then the other side, they have nothing.”

Tatum O’Neal’s post comes amid Ruffalo defending himself against Paramount’s claim that he is “antisemitic” after he called out Oracle for having alleged ties to the Israeli forces. In fact, actor John Cusack showed “solidarity” for Mark and added “well said” in the latter’s response to Paramount.

Last Friday, Mark Ruffalo publicly denounced Oracle executive vice chair and Paramount board member Safra Catz for discussing “profoundly scary technologies” that the tech firm gave the Israeli military to be used in Gaza, claiming it was built on an “apartheid system of oppression powered by Oracle” with "catastrophic" implications.

“From one of the biggest tech companies in the world. Powering some of the most destructive and inhuman forces in the world. Why has Trump pushed this illegal merger through?”

He also called out billionaire Oracle owner Larry Wilson using his company to “fund” his son David Wilson’s Warner Bros Discovery acquisition for $111 billion. David Ellison is now the Head of Paramount Skydance, which released a statement within a few hours, telling several outlets, including Variety:

“We are, as always, troubled when antisemitic tropes are invoked in purported service of a business dispute. Words like ‘genocide’ and ‘apartheid,’ applied to a corporate transaction, aren’t just wrong — they’re a bridge too far, and they cheapen the very real suffering those words are meant to describe. This doesn’t deserve a response in kind — and to be clear, we don’t tolerate prejudice of any kind, against anyone.”

Meanwhile, Mark Ruffalo came to his own defence and wrote on X:

“The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel.”

The Poor Things actor added:

“To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect. Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life.”

Mark Ruffalo mentioned that the “merger” between Oracle and the Israeli military has “real consequences for real people,” and that “scrutinizing” the Ellisons and their business tactics built on “data, surveillance technology, and government contracts” is both “fair and necessary.” The actor claimed they pose “serious threat to editorial freedom” and the “loss of a livelihood” for thousands of families.

“The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public,” Ruffalo, who has been a staunch opponent of Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros., the 58-year-old Wisconsin-born actor wrote.

Mark Ruffalo concluded his tweet:

“Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for a serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.”

It is noteworthy that Oracle’s sales division head Shmulik Hauser told Ynet last year that “supporting” Israel is in the company’s “DNA, even if it costs us clients.”

The U.S. Department of Justice approved the merger in June. Meanwhile, 12 U.S. states have filed a federal lawsuit in coalition challenging the merger on “antitrust” grounds. As a result, it remains on hold and awaits the court’s verdict. According to The Guardian, if the merger isn’t closed by September 30, it will cost Paramount nearly $7 million per day in delay fees to WBD shareholders.

Mark Ruffalo is one of thousands of actors and Hollywood workers who pledged in 2025 to stop working with Israeli-linked institutions amid the ongoing conflict with Palestine.
