- Tom Hardy will reportedly not be fired from *MobLand* after all.

- A previous report stated that the Oscar winner was exiting the Paramount+ series.

- Helen Mirren recently voiced support for her *MobLand* costar.

Like his *MobLand* character, it looks like Tom Hardy has done some fixing.

More than a month ago, word came that the Oscar-nominated actor had been fired from his lead role on the Paramount+ crime series. Ever since, further updates have suggested that his status was still being worked out, and now Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Hardy will return for a yet-to-be-announced third season.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells ** that no official renewal decision has been made.

Paramount+ had no comment, while representatives for Hardy didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

When first reporting that Hardy was fired, Puck said that he was often late to set, attempted to change the show's dialogue, clashed with producers and showrunner Jez Butterworth, and wasn't happy that *MobLand* was becoming more of an ensemble show.

Produced by Guy Ritchie, *MobLand* stars Hardy as Harry Da Souza, the loyal fixer for the Harrigan crime family, which is led by powerful patriarch Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and his conniving wife, Maeve (Helen Mirren). The cast also includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Janet McTeer, and Toby Jones.

Hardy's purported firing hasn't sat well with the *MobLand* mob. Fans passionately defended Hardy on social media, and even declared that the series might as well end if Hardy isn't involved, considering how his simmering performance was the standout element of season 1.

According to Deadline, Hardy recently met with Butterworth and executive producer David Glasser, and the dialogue was positive enough to move forward. And it didn't hurt that Ritchie was allegedly an important mediator in the situation.

Another key endorsement came from Mirren. While reports suggested that Hardy's alleged tardiness was "frustrating" for her, she publicly insisted that there is no bad blood.

"I love Tom, I think he's the most amazing actor," Mirren recently said. "Different actors have different processes. I've learnt over the years that some people get to things faster. As long as what's on the screen is fantastic, I'm totally chilled with however someone gets there. Tom is a very special person. I think he's absolutely remarkable. My support of him is genuine and heartfelt."

Production has already been completed on *MobLand* season 2. The debate over Hardy's status was partly dependent on whether the series is picked up for a third season, which, if the Hardy issues are settled, seems likely, given *MobLand'*s strong ratings.

"When you have powerful artistic people working together, the creative process is challenging," Mirren said, while hyping up the show's future. "People will get their knickers in a twist as we say. We will go forward, absolutely, and it will be even better."

And who knows, maybe the threat of Hardy's burgeoning rap career is what sealed the deal!
