Valerie Bertinelli is sharing a sad loss with her fans.

On Thursday, Aug. 27, Bertinelli, 66, announced the death of her cat Henry in an Instagram post. The post included a single image of the actress’ cat looking out of the window and the caption: “Rest in peace, my sweet, gentle, perfect boy. Sir Henry 2013-2026.”

Among the kind words and condolences from her 1.7 million followers, Bertinelli’s son, Wolfgang Van Halen, 35, whom she shares with her late ex-husband Eddie Van Halen, commented on the post, writing, “Can’t even begin to explain how special of a cat Henry was. Love you, Ma.”

In a previous social media post, Bertinelli shared an “elegant” image of Henry, whom she jokingly described as “a very non-elegant cat,” adding, “I swear this cat smokes weed when I’m not watching. He’s that mellow. Look at his eyes. He’s high, right?”

Last October, the TV personality announced the death of her orange cat, Nelson. She currently has cats Batman, Beau, Bubba and Tigger, along with a dog named Luna.

Bertinelli has opened up about her love life and said her cats may be all the love she wants at this stage of her life.

In May, during the premiere of her latest film, Love, Again, when asked about re-entering the dating scene, she told Pause Rewind a firm “Oh, hell no.”

“2024 sucked the life out of me,” she noted, naming the year she split from ex-boyfriend Mike Goodnough after dating for nearly a year. “I sleep with a black cat. That tells you everything you about me. And I love that furry little 11 lbs,” she continued, referring to her cat Batman.

However, in her memoir, Getting Naked: The Quiet Work of Becoming Perfectly Imperfect, Bertinelli did admit that she “would love to have a great special love” in her life.

“I have special loves in my life,” the Still Hot in Cleveland podcast host explained at the time. “I have my son. I have my daughter-in-law. I have my brothers. I have my family. I have my girlfriends. I love them. But there’s something about intimate love that I would love to have.”
