When you’re checking out at Walmart or Sam’s Club, the store terminal gives you two card options: swiping the back magnetic stripe or inserting the front microchip.

Shoppers will soon be given the option to tap a contactless card.

Have you ever accidentally left your wallet at home or in the car? Well, here’s a solution.

Payments in the checkout aisle can also be made digitally through phones and smartwatches.

Tap to Pay began its rollout at select Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations on Aug. 24.

But it may take a while for all stores to get this payment option.

Here’s what we know.

When is Tap to Pay coming to Walmart and Sam’s Club in Florida?

It’s been rumored online that Floridians could expect this change in October.

Don’t count on it.

No official date has been announced for Sunshine State locations.

“We plan (to) roll out this payment option to all U.S. stores and clubs by the end of 2026,” wrote Walmart representative Kasey Anderson in a statement when the Tampa Bay Times reached out for comment.

Will Tap to Pay be available for Walmart and Sam’s Club fuel stations?

Yes, but guests won’t see the new payment option at Walmart and Sam’s Club fuel stations until mid-2027.

Can Walmart and Sam’s Club cards be added to digital wallets?

Customers will be able to add their eligible Walmart, Sam’s Club and OnePay cards to their digital wallets.
