Welcome to Plathville is making its return this spring, and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the new season!
“Everyone's stepping into a whole new chapter in their lives,” Lydia Plath says in a teaser for season 8 of the TLC reality show, which premieres on Tuesday, March 31.
But while some of the Plaths are making positive strides in their lives, tensions mount between others as family ties are tested once again following the drama from season 7.
Lydia even delivers an ultimatum during a family meeting after becoming fed up with the repeated mistreatment and gossip surrounding her marriage and husband Zac — vowing that she "will not tolerate" the negativity any longer.

Barry is back on the market, and viewers will get a glimpse into his newfound dating life as the patriarch insists he is “single and ready to mingle” following his divorce from Kim.
While doing some online dating, Barry reveals to one woman that he is particularly attracted to “the Sandra Bullock look.”
Meanwhile, the topic of new family members is floated during a big family dinner, sans Barry.
“There's no telling how many people will be here next year,” Kim tells her kids, including Lydia and her husband Zac.
"You never know!" Lydia exclaims, but hides her face when her mom responds with, “I mean Ken and I, we aren’t out of the race yet!”
Zac also seems a tad uncomfortable with the conversation. “I don’t want to talk about my mother-in-law’s fertility,” he admits in a confessional afterward.

Season 8 will also touch upon Morah’s journey with alopecia. In one clip, Moriah takes off her wig while visiting a wig shop with her brother Ethan and sister Amber.
“Don’t laugh!” she quips with a smile. “Or actually,” she adds, “it helps when people laugh — sometimes.”
Ethan seemingly has done some soul-searching, admitting in one clip that he “finally realized that you can't just run from your problems” in life. “You’ve got to do something, or you’ll go crazy,” he adds.

But trouble may be brewing with his younger siblings. In one clip, Isaac and his girlfriend Kaylynn have a heart-to-heart, at which point Kaylynn admits, “Honestly, right now, I don't know where me and Isaac stand.”
“I’m just really sorry that I put you through that,” Isaac tells her while they sit in his truck, but she replies, “I don’t take bull crap. I know my self worth.”

And according to Barry, “there's healing that's needed between Lydia and Kim.” And the two seemingly hash things out while Lydia gives Kim a haircut.
“You and I used to be really close before the divorce,” Kim tells her daughter, who then informs her mom, “Whenever I would talk to you, it just felt like I was talking to a brick wall.”
In a later confessional, Kim acknowledges Lydia and Zac are likely “wanting apologies” at their upcoming family meeting. But when asked if she will apologize herself, she admits, “I don’t know!”
But Zac knows there is only so much he and his wife can do. “We're going to control what we can control,” Zac says in a confessional. “But their reactions, we can't control.”

During the meeting, Micah — who is no longer together with his previous girlfriend, Veronica — takes issue with a lack of communication from some of his family members. But Amber finds his comments hypocritical,
“It's kind of ironic that Micah is the one saying, ‘Oh, we need to work on communicating better' when he’s somewhere down in Florida [and] none of us ever hear from him," she declares in a confessional.
Later on, Lydia puts her foot down about the mistreatment of her husband after some family members questioned his sexuality and wondered if Lydia was being “manipulated” into marrying him last season.
During the meeting, Lydia gets emotional while standing by her marriage. “If I find out that there's still gossiping about Zac and I," she says, "I will not tolerate it.”
