The Wonder Years now has the kind of nostalgic glow the series itself had for the late '60s and early '70s.
Airing from 1988 to 1993 on ABC, the Emmy-winning dramedy centered on the ups and downs of Kevin Arnold's (Fred Savage) life, a teenager growing up in suburbia amid sociopolitical change in America.
The show's introspective approach to the everyday concerns of young teens helped it stand out from other sitcoms on the air at the time and paved the way for shows like My So-Called Life and Freaks and Geeks.
Savage became a star through his work on the series, while castmates like Danica McKellar, Josh Saviano, and Olivia d'Abo have enjoyed fascinating, divergent career paths since the early '90s.
Ahead, we're exploring how the cast of The Wonder Years has gotten by (with a little help from their friends, no doubt) more than 30 years later.

Following The Wonder Years, Fred Savage guest-starred on several TV shows and in many movies, including Boy Meets World (alongside his brother, Ben Savage) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). Savage went behind the camera to produce and direct episodes of shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Party Down.
In 2015, he starred on the short-lived Fox series The Grinder, alongside Rob Lowe. He was also a main cast member on the Netflix comedy Friends From College from 2017 to 2019, and popped up in a few episodes of The Afterparty in 2022.
In 2021, Savage served as the executive producer and director of The Wonder Years reboot. He was terminated from the show in May 2022 for "verbal outbursts" and "inappropriate behavior." Unfortunately, these aren't the first allegations brought up against Savage — he reportedly faced misconduct accusations from crew members on the original Wonder Years and The Grinder.
Savage married his wife, Jennifer Lynn Stone, in 2004. The couple has three children together.
Danica McKellar (Winnie Cooper)

After Kevin and Winnie's final summer, Danica McKellar went to UCLA and earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics. Armed with a passion for fractions, McKellar has written a whopping 12 math-related books(!) that are aimed at encouraging everyone (especially girls), from infancy to adulthood, to love math.
On TV, the actress had a recurring role on The West Wing, and has also appeared on How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. She competed on Dancing With the Stars in 2014, coming in sixth place.
In recent years, she appeared on Netflix's Project Mc2 and reprised her role as Winnie in an episode of the Wonder Years reboot. McKellar is also the low-key queen of Christmas-themed TV movies: You may have seen her in Crown for Christmas (2015), Christmas at the Drive-In (2022), A Royal Date for Christmas (2023), and Have We Met This Christmas (2025), among other holiday titles.
McKellar married attorney Scott Sveslosky in 2014 and has one child from a previous marriage.
Josh Saviano (Paul Pfeiffer)

Contrary to the rumors, Kevin's neighbor and resolute best friend did not grow up to be Marilyn Manson. Instead, he traded his glasses for a suit and tie.
Josh Saviano attended the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and is currently a working attorney. In 2015, the then-39-year-old launched a law firm and celebrity brand consultancy.
But Saviano didn't turn his back on acting entirely. He returned to TV in 2014, where he used his real-life skills to play a lawyer on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, reprising the role in 2015 and 2016.
Saviano has been married to Jennifer Romer since 2002. They have one child together.
Jason Hervey (Wayne Arnold)

Jason Hervey spent years taunting Kevin Arnold as his older brother Wayne, but then he took a step back from the spotlight. After The Wonder Years, the former child star lent his voice to several animated characters — he and Savage even played brothers again on the series Justice League Unlimited.
Hervey has also spent time behind the camera, producing sports specials for World Championship Wrestling and TV shows like See Dad Run, Hardcore Pawn: Chicago, and Outlaw Country.
Hervey was also a contributor on VH1's I Love the '80s and I Love the '80s Strikes Back. He returned to acting with the 2021 Hallmark movie You, Me & the Christmas Trees, which also starred Danica McKellar.
Hervey has twins with his ex-wife, Shannon, to whom he was married from 1998 to 2020.
Dan Lauria (Jack Arnold)

There was a little bit of everyone's dad in Dan Lauria's curmudgeonly patriarch. The former U.S. Marine went on to bring this signature gruffness to other roles, most notably Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi in the Broadway play Lombardi back in 2011.
Lauria has appeared on several shows since The Wonder Years, including How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy, The Mentalist, and This Is Us. You might've seen him as Jack Sullivan in the TBS comedy Sullivan & Son, which ran from 2012 to 2014, or as Al Luongo on the short-lived Fox gem Pitch.
He portrayed House Speaker Tip O'Neill in the 2024 biographical drama Reagan.
Lauria was married to Eileen Cregg from 1991 to 2001.

Alley Mills (Norma Arnold)

Mama Arnold didn't stop acting when the kids moved out. In 1993, after The Wonder Years ended, Alley Mills landed a recurring role on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. She has an impressive television repertoire, with appearances on NYPD Blue, Yes, Dear, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Mills was also a regular on The Bold and the Beautiful from 2006 to 2022, playing sister to the family matriarch, Pamela Douglas, before recurring as Heather Webber on General Hospital, for which she has earned two Daytime Emmy awards.
In 2023, she reunited with Lauria for an episode of Fantasy Island.
Mills was married to actor Orson Bean from 1993 through his death in 2020. She has four children.
Olivia d'Abo (Karen Arnold)

The free spirit of the Arnold family has flitted all across the entertainment world. Olivia d'Abo has voiced numerous animated characters, including Jane Porter on the 2001 show The Legend of Tarzan and Luminara Unduli across numerous Star Wars movies and shows. She's guested on several popular series as well, like Psych, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Jane the Virgin.
In 2005, she joined Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in a Broadway revival of The Odd Couple. A few years later, she dropped her debut album, Not TV.
D'Abo was married to songwriter Patrick Leonard from 2002 to 2012. She has a son from a previous relationship.
Daniel Stern (the Narrator)

It's hard to believe one of Home Alone's "Wet Bandits" served as The Wonder Years' wistful narrator, but Daniel Stern is a versatile man.
In 1999, he and his wife, Laure Mattos, founded the Malibu Foundation for Youth and Families. Stern has also developed and taught media literacy in classrooms and visited the troops in Iraq on a Handshake Tour with the USO. He earned the "Call to Service Award," the highest honor for volunteerism, from President Barack Obama in 2009.
Stern has continued to produce and act in movies, including starring in the 2019 film Game Over, Man alongside Workaholics alums Adam DeVine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson. On TV, he's played key roles on series such as Manhattan, Shrill, and For All Mankind.
The actor faced one misdemeanor charge of soliciting prostitution after a December 2025 incident. The charge was dismissed in February 2026.
Stern has three children with actress Laure Mattos, whom he married in 1980. One of their children, Henry Stern, is a California State Senator.
Giovanni Ribisi (Jeff Billings)

Since playing Kevin's pal Jeff on The Wonder Years, Giovanni Ribisi has carved out a fascinating career both in front of and behind the camera.
Highlights from his vast resume include roles in Richard Linklater's Suburbia (1996), Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan (1998), Michael Mann's Public Enemies (2009), and Ava Duvernay's Selma (2014), not to mention all three movies in James Cameron's ongoing Avatar franchise (2009–present).
On TV, he's likely most famous for playing Phoebe's half-brother on Friends, though you may also know him from shows like Dads, Sneaky Pete, and My Name Is Earl, the latter of which earned him an Emmy nomination.
He made his debut as a cinematographer with the 2024 indie Strange Darling, on which he also served as a producer.
Ribisi has two children with his partner, Emily Ward, and a daughter from his previous marriage to actress Mariah O'Brien.
Ben Stein (Mr. Cantwell)

Kevin's former science teacher, Mr. Cantwell, is a real-life lawyer, author, and media personality. Ben Stein has focused his career on politics and the economy. He regularly appeared on CNBC's The Kudlow Report and writes commentaries — often controversial — on everything from terrorism to taxes for publications like The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
Of course, the Ferris Bueller standout is famous for his dry delivery, which he's continued to deliver on series like The Fairly OddParents and as host of his own show on Comedy Central, Win Ben Stein's Money.
Stein has been married to entertainment lawyer Alexandra Denman since 1977.

Comic-Con connoisseurs surely know Robert Picardo as The Doctor on Star Trek: Voyager. He reprised his most famous role on both Star Trek: Prodigy and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
Back on Earth, he's appeared in episodes of popular shows like Ally McBeal, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Mentalist, Grey's Anatomy, and Dickinson. Picardo's talents extend beyond the screen, too — in addition to being a talented singer, he currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Planetary Society.
Picardo has two children with ex-wife Linda Pawlik, to whom he was married from 1984 to 2014.
