- The cast of *Scrubs* has revealed a few of their favorite guest stars across the original show’s nine-season run.

- Zach Braff shared that his personal favorite is a “phenomenal” actor whom he “never thought” would sign on for the show.

- Michael J. Fox and Tara Reid were among the names suggested by his costars, Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison.

Of the many guest stars who have left a mark on Sacred Heart hospital, only four earned a spot on the *Scrubs* cast’s “Mount Rushmore.”

Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, and Donald Faison recently took a stroll down memory lane to decide on their collective top four favorite guest stars, in an interview with PEOPLE. Braff shared that one of his personal faves was Brendan Fraser, an actor he never could have guessed would appear on the show.

“A phenomenal actor,” Braff said of the Oscar-winning performer. “Never thought he was going to do *Scrubs*.”

Braff added, “His performance, particularly with he and John C. McGinley, was really magical.”

Fraser appeared on three episodes of the hospital-set sitcom as Ben Sullivan, the friend and brother-in-law of McGinley’s Dr. Cox. His final episode was by far the most memorable as it concluded with an emotional twist, revealing — spoiler alert — that Fraser’s character had died off-screen. Cox, unable to accept the death of his friend, had been hallucinating Ben’s spirit throughout the episode.

While looking back on his guest stint during a 2020 episode of the *Scrubs* rewatch podcast *Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald*, Fraser shared that he still gets recognized for his brief but emotional part on the show.

Building out the rest of the “Mount Rushmore,” the *Scrubs* stars pointed to stars who fit in with the characteristic humor of the sitcom. Chalke selected Michael J. Fox, gushing, “I grew up watching him. I couldn’t believe his physical comedy, his comedy, all of it.”

Meanwhile, Faison picked Tara Reid who he dubbed “one of our funniest guest stars on the show.”

He added, “The way that everybody kind of reacted to Tara Reid’s character and how they all wanted to get with her, I think that was some funny stuff.”

The final name offered up was John Ritter, who played the father to Braff’s Dr. Dorian.

“He was so funny and he was so good, and he made us all laugh,” Chalke explained. “Feels like we’re so lucky to have him, and yet he’s giving us good vibes that he’s grateful to be there.”

Of the show’s many guest stars she added, “All of them came and just like brought it.”

The original *Scrubs, *created by Bill Lawrence,* *followed the goofy and heartwarming antics of healthcare professionals at teaching hospital Sacred Heart Hospital and ran from 2001 to 2010. The show welcomed a star-studded roster of guest stars including such names as Ryan Reynolds, Matthew Perry, Mandy Moore, Dick van Dyke, Elizabeth Banks, Colin Farrell, and Jason Bateman.

A revival of the series premiered in February, with a second season due to arrive in September.
